Welcome Modern World History students!
This course is designed to provide greater depth and complexity in the content of World History and build historical thinking and analysis skills that will enable students to deal with coursework in Social Science. The course places heavy emphasis on writing within the context of Modern World History and Geography and processes of globalization. Topics include the development of western political thought, the emergence of new world patterns, revolution and nationalism, industrialization and imperialism, the world wars, and international developments in the Post-World War Era. The sequence of the units covered will be chronological and thematic with strong attention to geography and primary sourcework. In-depth study and research will be pursued throughout the year and literature will be analyzed in conjunction with some of the time periods or themes being covered.
